  • Thursday, May 4, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau at 200: From Concord to Cape Cod, and to Us Today." At the Cape Cod Museum of Nature History, 869 Main Street (Route 6A), Brewster, Massachusetts, beginning at 1 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 6, 2017 - "Write Outside Your Door." I'll lead a nature writing walk at the Miller Forest Tract in Monson, Massachusetts, beginning at 1 p.m. Organized and supported by the Wilbraham Public Library and Wilbraham Hiking Club.

  • May 30-June 8, 2017 - Follow Thoreau's Journey West with me! I'll host a 9-day tour of the Midwest, beginning and ending near Chicago, and circling around to include the Twin Cities and Mackinac Island.   • Thursday, June 15, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau: From Concord to Philadelphia, and to Us Today." At the Phoenixville Public Library, 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, beginning at 7 p.m.

  • Tuesday, July 11, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau for Kids: Activities." At Monson Free Library, 2 High Street, Monson, Massachusetts, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Aimed at the younger crowd, but anyone is welcome.

  • Tuesday, July 11-Sunday, July 16, 2017 - Annual Gathering of The Thoreau Society in Concord, Massachusetts. I'm leading two walks and giving one presentation. Henry's 200th birthday is July 12.

  • Monday, July 17, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau at 200: His Relevance for Us Today." At the Agawam Public Library, 750 Cooper Street, Agawam, Massachusetts, beginning at 7 p.m.

  • Thursday, August 3, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau at 200: His Relevance for Us Today." At the Dover Free Library, 22 Holland Road, East Dover, Vermont, beginning at 7 p.m. Dessert will be served afterward!

  • Wednesday, September 13, 2017 - "Henry David Thoreau Takes the Train, To Palmer ... and Beyond." At the Palmer Public Library, 1455 North Main Street, Palmer, Massachusetts, beginning at 6 p.m.

  • Saturday, September 16, 2017 - I'll lead a "Write Outside Our Door" Nature Writing Walk on Shaw Lane in Sutton, Massachusetts. Organized by the Sutton Public Library, on the site of their new library building.

  • Saturday, October 21, 2017 - "Exploring Henry David Thoreau's Relevance to Us Today: A Talk and Walk." At Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Road, Media, Pennsylvania, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The property has a Walden house replica that we will walk to after the main part of the program.

  • ONGOING: My four-week online course through We Are Wildness:  Reconnect with the Wild through Writing. Start and complete it at your leisure.
